Have You Ever...

Come out of a shop so absorbed with putting your change in your purse and fishing out your keys, you've tried to get into the wrong car?

The other night I was about to get into what I thought was my car. When I looked up I saw it had a huge scrape up the side of it!

I nearly had a heart attack. I thought someone had sideswiped me while I was shopping.

Oh relief when I saw my car in the next space, unharmed !

I felt a bit sorry for the scraped car though, it was a nice black Peugeot.

No I haven't done that, but i've gone through a check out at Best & Less paid for my purchases, crossed the road and was standing looking at some lovely shoes and a shoe shop and looked down and realized I had 6 placemats under my arm

Not really absorbed in anything, more of just a day dream, but started bleeping at the remote when the white wagon wouldn't unlock.
Took a little while to realise I hadn't even taken the wagon, but the other car. (yep, the wagon is quite a common model and colour around here)

yes, i have. i actually opened the car door using my key and was about to hop in when i realised the inside of the car was unusually tidy...

i had a very nice VH commodore SLE back in the late eighties, just to turn it over

oh yeah, and mines a 1989 240 volvo, you hardly see them getting around anymore let alone a red one, lol

Mnay many many years ago I had been shopping, was very tired when I got back to the car, put the key in the lock, opened it up and thought it had been taken for a joy ride as I kept my car clean and rubbish was not allowed all over the floor!

Mine was parked about 5 cars on....but my key opened this car! Ford XD

A couple of weeks ago, I parked my car outside the gym. Came out and an identical car was parked beside it. Even the first 3 letters of the number plate were the same (numbers were different though) Same colour the works, even the sticker saying the car place I bought it from and the number plate frame thingy!

Made sense as the car yard probably registered a few of them together, so the numbers would have followed, but it spun me out a bit at first LOL

Just kinda weird, that 2 dif people like that were at the same place at the same time.

I had a loaner Datsun 180b from the local garage in the mid 80's (that I thought was a bluey colour from memory) managed to

not only get into a bluey one then adjust the seat back from midget to jumbo size, start it and get a cupla kms down the main

road before I noticed the baby seat that was hooked into the back seat.

...which I thought was a little strange for a garage loaner car... and the interior was so clean.... and... I thought ' and what's the go

with all that stuff on the back seat"??

.... I pulled into the garage about 5 kms from the carpark and the mechanic just looked at me in disbelief and said

... "wrong car I loaned you a safety yellow one".....

woooooooooops... Firetruck... firetruck... firetruck

He yelled the rego plate number at me as I reversed out which dutifully went in one ear and out the other

I managed to get back to the carpark and slipped the car back into a parking space and get out and lock it and then I sat under a

tree for the next 3 hours till the car park emptied and that then identified the solitary safety yellow Datsun 180b that was left and

the original loaner car I had actually driven into the carpark with......

I always wondered whether the owner had noticed that the car had been moved
