Before you even contemplate that, make sure of your facts 100%

Making false accusations could land you in hot water.

If you are 100% certain then you should do your duty and do it.

To receive carers allowance involves very strict conditions, without the treating Doctor completing a detailed history of the patients condition, there is no way Centrelink will approve a carers payment.

I would therfor be interested in hearing why you believe this person is rorting the system Crystal.

YW, just be sure, as poddster said, that you are sure. It takes time and resources to check fraud and many people may get carers allowance without it being/looking obvious, they are eligible.

This situation is a young couple who live in two different addies, one is disabled but mum and dad prolly should be getting the allowance. Actually while I'm typing this maybe it isnt true cause it doesn't sound right.

Crystal, the person providing the care for the disabled person would be the person receiving the payment. Are you saying this isn't the case?

Carer Allowance (caring for a person 16 years or over)

You may receive Carer Allowance (caring for a person 16 years or over) if you:

are looking after a person aged 16 or more who has a disability or medical condition or is frail aged and needs additional care and attention on a daily basis and provide the care for that person in either your home or that person’s home.

You may receive Carer Allowance for up to two adults in your care.

Medical reviews

The person you care for will generally be reviewed every two years to check whether there are any changes to his or her medical condition.

If the person you care for has a disability or medical condition and requires high care, he or she is unlikely to have many medical reviews.

It is usually done by the doctor caring for the person who needs care, Dr fills out the paperwork, Centrelink reviews it and may ask for a Centrelink Dr to also see the person and assess them. It depends on the amount of care needed and the type of care. I have just read all this as it was pertinent to my FIL.
