Meat and washing powder. Independent butchers for us, and MooMo powder.

Is there a rule about mentioning brands names? Just playing safe.

the problem i have with the place apart from coffee is the fact that i'll have to go elsewhere for some things anyway, and one stop is enough so i don't bother. trouble is they knocked down the other one, so i have to go twice as far. parents of small kids tell me the nappies are a huge saving 11 -12 dollars v 30 -36 for the same quality (or something like that) at a coles.

their laundry stain remover (like preen) it brings on asthma symptoms and their frozen chips. there are lots of their products though that i love.

their liquid laundry detergent is very good and i have found their meat to be lovely the few times i have bought it. i love their two pack frozen salmon fillets with herb crust.

A frozen meal, an Indian one, was horrible and I threw it away.

Not fussed on the chocolate, except for the more expensive ones.

I find the big packet of laundry powder too strongly scented for my liking. But it does clean well if the kids have mucky clothing

Dog won't eat the canned dog food.

Cat won't eat the dry food (will eat the small 69 cent cans of fish)

My dog does absolutely horrendous farts when she eats the single serve wet dog food, but she loves it. My parents dog eats both the wet and dry food and the only bad thing I can say is her poop has a reddish tinge to it (I think its the beet pulp in the dry food).

But I personally haven't tried it myself.

thanks, i dont think i'll risk getting one of those disgusted looks from the cat. neither cat is mine anyway, but the owners are too young to drive so its up to me to buy it.

When I posted a thread about Dine being on special, the Aldi cat food got some good reviews for quality and value.

it means having to go to two supermarkets for me and i don't like them much. i dont like shops much at all.

We used to pay 99c for small Dine, thought we'd try the Aldi small tins at 69c after seeing it on a previous post here. Our cat loves it (he's fussy) and also the bigger tins, depending on the flavour.

When we lived in Tassie, the BIG S'Markets opposed Aldi coming in to the state,and won,..... oh boy, the prices we had to pay were crazy! Don't know if Aldi are there now, maybe that is what happened in WA?

LOL, just had a conversation with my sister...... the supermarket guru.

She loves Aldi, does her fortnightly shop there and the off week does woolies..........

She said she will pick me up at 7.15am on Saturday if I want to go to Aldi for the specials............because you have to get there that early or miss out. "You can't take a trolley either unless there are 2 people as some will just barrel past you .................and not let you in". and the only way into the carpark, sounds like a maze! (as they are locked until 7.40 am), is to line up..........for 20 mins.

I am not sure I want anything badly enough

My dogs are mostly fed on Royal Canin, Holistic EagleHawk or their latest favourite "Canidae Grain Free Pure Sea" dry food, but anytime in the past when I ran out, and was not able to get another bag the ALDI brand did just fine. The dogs ate it and did not lose condition. My cat would not touch the cat dry food though, but then again she would not eat any of the other supermarket food.

I cannot think anything from ALDI that I really hated, but I never tried the coffee. The trouble is that there is always something that I cannot get there and have to go to another shop as well. But as our ALDI is generally considerably cheaper than Woolworth or Coles, I do shop there. The real problem is that I never seem to buy just what I need; I always come home with some gadget, mat or utensil. 🙂

And there is always long queue.
