I finally caught the kitty

A little 6 week old kitty made it's home at my workplace almost a week ago, sleeping in the bushes, crying and crying for it's mummy and food. Managements plan of action was 'ignore the problem'.

Every night after work I've sat in the garden trying to entice kitty during biting cold wind, rain, hail, heat and mosquitoes with food and kind words. Despite the efforts of well meaning idiots whose plan of action was to chase the little kitty to try to catch it.

Tonight I had success! It took an hour but he/she was finally a big brave kitty and ventured into my cat carrier where I'd placed food.

Another woman at work had arranged a foster home already just in case. I've let her take kitty home with her tonight and she'll take him/her to a foster home tomorrow.

I am so relieved. I've spent almost a week planning, stressing and not sleeping worrying about this little scrap of a life.

I wonder about that too 😞 And the mama kitty.

Unless the mama kitty abandoned this little one. But he/she is the cutest little thing so I'm sure it will be adopted easily.

What a lovely ending to what could have been a really dreadful thing if left to 'them upstairs'.

Wonderful new cat_ mioux only a person that loved kitty cats would do what you did. Poor little thing, but at least it has a home to go to, where it will be loved.

The rest of the litter should be somewhere..........you might find some more.

If only more people would do the same as you..Too many situations happen like this..Desexing all companion cats would certainly stop endless unwanted kitten litters..You have a kind heart..

Good on you Cat,

it's a reflief when you finally catch a kitten that's out in the elements, you worry about it all the time when you know it's out there.

It takes a lot of patience to get them to trust you.

a couple of years ago a cat came into our garden and we started feeding her, then one day she had 2 kittens following her. The kittens were about 6 months old when we finally caught them and they our now our pets. It took ages to get them used to people though as they would hiss at first and were quite feral.

By the time we went to try and catch the mum, she was pregnant again, then we had another 3 kittens to catch. Honestly the welfare of those animals just took over my life. In the end we caught them all, socialized them and the RSPCA found them homes.

anyway you've saved a life, kudos to you !

It sure did Icy, all I was doing was trying to catch those kittens, it became my life's purpose lol

the 2 we have are now real lap cats, you would never know how wild they once were

I wish I could've kept them all, because I became so attached to them, it was so hard to give them up

Good for you,cat. That's how I got my Miss Missy. She was about 4 weeks old

and hiding in the garden centre of our local hardware store. They said she had

been crying for 2 days and they couldn't get her. I enticed her out and took her

home. She is now a very contented (read fat) 9 year old spoiled girl

I love hearing about these little kitties who have found warm safe homes with loving kind people

Poor little Missy being only 4 weeks old. That's so young. She is lucky you rescued her in time.

People kept asking me if I was going to keep the kitty. OMG I have 3 already and to bring another kitty into the household just wouldn't be fair.

Besides, little deaf autistic Beau would have a meltdown.

About 14yrs ago, I had 9 kitty cats, both my kids use to bring them home, my son even told me that one followed him home.........having 9 cats, I had to get a permit from the council to keep that many.

I love cats, can only have two now, but would have many more if I could...

I use to be known as the cat lady.....

Update:

Kitty has a home. The woman who took the kitten home for the first night before handing it over to the foster home has fallen in love with Miss Kitty. Yes it's a little girl! Older than we thought. 12 weeks old. She has had her first lot of vaccinations and the vet gave her the all clear.

She has stopped hissing and biting and is doing really well. When I think about her sleeping in a warm bed with her little tummy full it makes me smile!

And the lovely woman who adopted Miss Kitty bought me a bouquet of roses
