If I was divorced I wouldn't bother with it again, I think its a good idea to raise kids but then whats the point

I think it is interesting that of all my divorced friends (of which there is a growing number) the men go into relationships as soon as they but the women mellow out and have no intention of going down that road again.

I think women are generally happy single. But men usually need a partner.

Multitude of reasons that I can see.

Women get their emotional support from their friends wheras men rely on their partners.

Women are more self sufficient whereas men tend to need someone else to push them/confirm them.

I read and article a few years back that surveyed the status of divorced couples 5 years later. Most of the women were still single, financially worse off but much happier.

The men were usually onto their next partner (or 2 or 3), more financially secure but more stressed and unhappy than when they were married.

I read another study once that said that divorce was often the first time a woman experienced freedom as most women go from being dependent on their parents to then being dependent on their partners.

Whereas men are usually breaking away from their parents earlier so they have a window of complete freedom before they get married.

And women just cope better than men with being single.

Nev, in my case you arw absolutely correct.

I choose to be single because i csnt be bothere retrainng anyone let alone a partner

my life is less complicated, my time is my own, my decisions are based on what suits me, i dont have to do anything i would rather not for the sake of a partner...

personally for me

i already got 3 kids why would i want another one lol

been single now for over 10 years

very happy i make all the descisions.i pay all bills myself.spend money when i want to lol

what i say goes.do what i want

i can sit and relax and enjoy myself

i only have to see to my own kids

just how i feel now im gonna enjoy my cuppa in peace and read a book

as my kids have all crashed out lol
