Son and partner have an 8 month old cat. She vomits most meals up and has done for most of her life. She is a small cat, but fit and playful. They have had her to the vet many times, she is there now. Every diet suggested has not made a difference. Last night she vomited her meal, and a lot of bright red blood. 😞 Maybe an ulcer?

What I would like to know is if anyone has had the same problem, and is the answer to feed her cooked chicken and nothing else? This seems to be something she can keep down in small amounts. Would giving her pet milk before her meal to coat her stomach help?

On the vet's table looking not very impressed. 🙂

Not something we can answer here unfortunately, it's for the professionals,

poor little kitty. The vets will need to do a range of tests. Bright red blood is not something that can

be cured by diet, it's very serious and the cause has to be found. It could be an ulcer or a tumour or a whole lot of

other things but that's what the vets are for. Wish I could help.

If her stomach's actually bleeding, it's also possible that she has some foreign body causing grief -baby animals can be just like kids as far as chewing and swallowing what they oughtn't, and something can be in a stomach for quite a while before trouble starts.

As said earlier, definitely one for the experts.

Best of luck,
Marina.

We do have other clinics locally. Also the one she has been taken to has a number of vets. I think though, that depending on what happens this time, a second opinion would be an excellent idea. I will suggest it to them.
