Haunted houses

After watching "The Conjuring" last night, I've been undecided as to whether houses, or other buildings, are actually haunted. What does everyone think? Are hauntings real or not?

I grew up in an old Edwardian house. Once, when I was little - around the age of 6 - I woke up during the night and called out to my mum. A sort of smokey.foggy looking woman's shape appeared in the doorway. When I asked for a glass of water, the shape disappeared which scared the daylights out of me.

For years, in the house I live in now, I used to feel someone gently put a hand on my shoulder , and, often I would wake to find a young girl next to my bed.

Ofcourse, that may or may not be a result of mental illness but who really knows for sure....

Different house, and I never mentioned him visiting. I like to think he's still around.

There are no such things as haunted houses or ghosts, strangely when challenged to provide a teeny weeny bit of proof , there never is any. If you could prove any para-normal event you could claim a few $million or so from that on offer. The money is perfectly safe.

However, I do believe people believe in all sorts of (unverified codswallop), and often with no desire to apply any basic research, or logical thought. as to why!

No goosebumps. But a very animated conversation followed. She never

mentioned it when she was young. As I said, she found him comforting,

not scary. She's now a mum herself and still remembers him. As she grew

he stopped coming. I very rarely see him now

If you could prove any para-normal event you could claim a few $million or so from that on offer. The money is perfectly safe.

Of course the money is safe - due to the criteria. (I gather you are not aware of what they are otherwise you would not make that statement)

I have probably told this story before, I can't remember.

When my son was very young I was preparing some stuff he needed for a primary school excursion. Both sons were asleep in bed and I was otherwise alone in the house. I was searching through the third drawer down looking for a safety pin to pin his name tag on to his school shirt but couldn't find one and it was late so I thought I would just temporarily sew it on in the morning.

The next morning, there was a white envelope on the kitchen dresser and it had a safety pin sitting on top of it.

That was not my only experience with a ghost in that kitchen.

It was scarey. I jumped so many times and apparently I was holding Mr Bluecat's hand tighter and tighter. LOL.

I'd love to have a scientific explanation. Until then, I am left with knowing there is something there, that we refer to as "the paranormal".
