Xmas trees

After years of having plastic one last Xmas I bought a real one. I was shocked to have to pay $45 for 4.5 ft tree from near-by tree farm. It was a lovely tree, and still looked fresh when we took it down last week, but i just wonder if that price I paid was "normal".

Good price in my opinion. We changed to fake a couple of years ago, I finally gave in to Hubby (he would come out with a rash from the needles), last few we brought were $75.

Yes, fresh ones are expensive compared to plastic ones. I love the smell of a real xmas tree and most years we buy one but we do a plastic one for emergencies. I complained about the lack of smell so my daughter suggested I hang those pine air freshener thingys on the tree.lol.

Not a bad price super.

5-10 years ago I could get them for 25-30 but now they are usually 40-60.

That is for one approx 5.5 - 6 feet tall. (small to medium)

Well worth it for the smell of pine needles and if you get the stuff to put in the water, they can last for 6-8 weeks easily.

I think about 5-6 feet. I miss the smell but I don't miss the whining from hubby.

Oh, good, that will improve the gene pool of those I already have here 🙂

I did manage to get the tree early in the morning on one of the really cold days close to Xmas (Saturday) and put it straight in the water; it smelled beautiful, and the branches I trimmed off the bottom are still in a vase and look quite fresh. We took the tree down, I needed the space and have better things to do than watching the dogs who had their sight firmly set on the fragile glass ornaments 🙂

I think i will do the same next year though. I thought about getting plastic one for next year, but it is not the same.
