On the post page, click on the little green tree. that will let you browse where you keep your photos, click on the photo, then upload to the post.......really easy.

Little green tree is 2nd up from emicon face.

In the reply box, on the top bar click on the symbol that looks like a tree ( smiley, link symbol then the tree symbol).

From there follow the instructions - Choose file - an image from your computer, choose an image size and hit insert image.

If you are using an iPad you will not get the tree icon using Safari.

Use the choose file button under the text box, then select your pic. It will be an attachment that people can open.

Or use Chrome, then request desktop site (you get that by clicking the three lines on the top right). Then you will get the normal text box as seen on a PC. Then click the tree icon 🙂 that will get you the pic in the post itself.

and you can install an emoticons keyboard in settings, general, keyboard, keyboards, add new keyboard, emoji

and if you are in Chrome, you get smilies in that tool bar two to the left of the tree

ipad mini, using Chrome.. chose smiley girl from tool bar, but it would only be placed at top of post.

Will install an emoticon keyboard as you suggested.

it worked!

they are in the post properly

the emoji keyboard on the iPad mini is free and already there, you just need to get it running (as above)

then to swap between the normal keyboard and the emoticons, tap the sphere symbol to the left of the microphone

then the same thing to get back, it is on the bottom left on the emoji keyboard

the Chrome emoticon does go to the top of the text box, you can cut and paste it where you want it, or type the text it gives you.

more fiddly, but works.

so the first heart was the emoticon, at the top, then the second was me typing it in exactly as it showed up in text.

You need the HTML code. Click the HTML field above and paste the pic/gif address. At the front of the address type <img src=" then at the back of the address type ">

After which you then return to the Rich Text field to write any message.

Well that works for me, anyhow.

Lithium's installed smileys are rubbish. They remind me of Gremlins.

Yes, but you need to know the code 🙂

the iPad emoji gives you a lot of options, they are small of course, but better than the Lithium ones.
