Johnny Rotten Tells Carrie Bickmore To Shutup Shutup Shutup!

I heard about this on the breakfast show driving to work this morning:

Johnny Rotten lived up to his name when he launched a sexist rant against Carrie Bickmore on The Project.

The Sex Pistols star, real name John Lydon, was being interviewed by The Project about his current musical projects.

During an answer about the working classes in the UK, he paused and Carrie jumped in and asked for his thoughts on Margaret Thatcher.

“Hey, hey, missus, shut up. Whoever you are, shut up. Shut up. Shut up. Now listen, when a man is talking, do not interrupt,” John said.

Carrie responded, “There was a break....[I thought you had] finished. Please go on.”

“Stop it. You sound like one of them dreadful loud birds I don’t like, OK? You be polite,” John continued.

“That’s really offensive,” Carrie replied.

“So are you when you do that,” John continued. “You’ve gotta learn what manners and respect is. And I’m Johnny “f..ing” Rotten and I’m telling you the truth.”

“Am I allowed to ask you a question now?” Carrie asked.

“No, no, no, your voice is too loud for me, alright? You need to taper it down a couple of thousand notches, right, and yes Big Bird is dead,” he added.

I saw that on the Project. Obviously that is part of his act but it wasn't funny.

I also think there is another reason why he behaved in that way. Bad news for him with Thatcher passing because he doesn't have the nous or guts or intelligence to explain how he really feels about it when he's asked.

It makes me wonder whether the sex pistols were anarchists or just junkies.

I'd heard him being interviewed a cpl weeks ago when he first arrived on WSFM, our local Classic Hits station. He was ok.

I agree with Joono though, he's had way to many drugs in his life.

The "Cool Girls", Sami and Yumi (I call them the Schoolgirls) on Mix, vowed they'd never have him on their show. They were all outrage.

Mind you I don't understand why Carrie asked him about Maggie Thatcher while he was talking about his music projects. Why would that have been significant?

Mostly junkies... They were successful because they made music that teenagers loved and parents hated, which made teenagers love it more.. They knew they were just a gimmick, they did it deliberately and knew that they had little musical talent.. They even called one of their albums "The Great Rock and Roll Swindle"

l saw that last night, he was such a rude pig, publicity stunt for sure that backfired.

The old anti establishment shock rude thing failed big time, it wasn't funny, it wasn't anything but embarrassing and stupid.

He was also rude to the guys on the show, it didn't win him any favours there either.

Its not the 80's anymore Johnny, go home.:P
