We have a house full of old stuff and it all gets used.

I am writing this on my 1850's desk after I just got up off my 1930's armchair lol! We use 1950s dinner plates every night and I will make my tea later in a 1910 teapot.

THere is a,ovely old 1850's clock ticking away behind me and I am wearing a watch from the 1920's. My favourite purse at the moment is one from the 1930's - it doesn't fit much and is starting to fall apart unfortunately but it is very sweet. Today I wore a fabulous 1960's mustard mens fitted body shirt to work that always gets a few nice comments.

But the oldest things we use are glasses from the late 18th century. Husband and I use them every night for an after dinner liqueur and we will bring them all out when we have guests. We get the odd breakage but we don't worry too much about that.

It was still working, but the small glass bowl (the one I used the most) slid out of the cupboard when I was getting something else out and broke on the tiles. It tripped the power cut out switch sometimes also.

It's just an old biscuit tin, I have no idea how old it is, but I just found out the company dissolved in 1961, so it must be at least that old and I found an identical one listed on an antique site.
