This is a benign thread about martini's and how you like them. I have no idea what or how any could see anything in it that casts aspersions on anybody.

It's a fun thread, lighten up everybody and don't be so quick to join in a op bashing.

Cause it's news to me lol.

But 'bitter' and 'twisted' are the 2 favourite words of those inclined to the right and there has been no chance to use them lately. So now other excuses to use the words need to be found.

I've never had a martini in my life.

I'm more of a champagne person.

I like olives but prefer the kalamari ones to those big fat green ones.

If we're talking about the drink, no can't stand martinis (that's minus the apostrophe as it's not a possessive noun in this case).

In the song "drink your martinis dry" I don't know of any other way to drink them - dry as blotting paper. No thanks. Gin and tonic I like, but not with vermouth ugghhh.

Noilly Prat Original Dry, 10ml

Shake with a couple of blocks of ice made from the crystal-clear water from a Tasmanian high-country creek

Pour into a martini glass with a 25mm x 5mm piece of lemon rind (no pith), twisted in a clockwise direction to extract the essence of the lemon

Drink through a sterling silver straw

Martinis are the best. But I must say that few people make them really well.

Best I ever had were at The Gin Palace in Melbourne. Bob - is that one of your 'go to' places?
