What does the 5 flashing parts of a pie graph on my digital watch mean?

I got this digital watch from a discount department store. In the top left it has a pie graph type picture.

It highlights 1 part then 5 parts then 3 parts then 5 parts then 2 parts and so on. Is this like a screen saver or a novel way of counting down seconds. You remember which pie chart appeared.
