Loneliness

Hi all. It took me ages to get the courage to write this. I recently moved to Victoria, know no one, and am extremely lonely. I am a STRAIGHT married woman, but am at the stage where it is a marriage in name only. I am a young at heart 62 year old, look after myself, love a laugh (and a cry if needed LOL). I just adore my 3 little dogs, who are my best friends and the loves of my life. I love shopping, trash and treasure markets, my computer (which I'd be lost without LOL), cooking, music, etc.etc. I'd love to meet other women to have a coffee and "yak" with, go shopping with etc. etc. I am very down to earth and non judgemental...I have had tough times in my life and judge no one. Soooo...if there's anyone out there, I'd love to hear from you. Thank you for reading my ad, have a nice day and take care.

You can always put the kettle on and join into some of the discussions around this place, chatting online is not the same as spending time with people in the flesh I know but it can definately be a good cure for loneliness 🙂

Where abouts in Vic do you live?

Good on you for breaking the ice cav. I think there are lots of lonely people in the world behind closed doors but no one likes to talk about it.

It can be especially lonely when your married and you look at the stranger sitting on the sofa watching TV and wonder what happened? If he doesn't like being social .. then leave him at home and start building a life for yourself.

But in the meantime, grab a cuppa and join in 🙂

If you are interested in art and craft, have you considered the Shepparton Art Gallery? They have a great collection of ceramics, and they have volunteer guides from the community- maybe a good way of meeting people?

Also, theres a Summer Film Festival this Saturday, could be fun...check out the Councils website, theres also a Sheppartons Friends of the Library group you could consider joining..though the library is having some work done before Christmas and is temporarily closed..

Hope these options may interest you..its not easy moving to a new place, but it can be exciting...

Try taking a dog for a walk in a local park -the same time as others.

Hi Cavaliers. like how you made clear in no uncertain terms that your stright, lol. If you were near Portsmouth Ohio, I'd kick it with ya, maybe in a library, the clubhouse (a place nearby folks hang out), or down on the river (York Park) ect.. If it were summertime, maybe hit the flea market on thursdays, and yard sales, or a two hour drive to Columbus to run down some thrift stores and visit a couple friends I have up there. I don't see hiking or bicycling, so i guess that would be out. I'm kind of big on exploring the hills and woods, trails and such, but not this time of the year,, burrrrr

I'm posting from my dad's garage right now, and can tell you that I'd like for these next few cold months to be over with, or to get into an apartment with heat, eather or, would work.

Oh I used to live near Seymour which is only about an hour or so away. I'm in central Gippsland now so thats probably a 4 hour drive from Shep, seems a little excessive just to have a coffee lol

But yeah good on you for breaking the ice, there are some great personalities posting on these boards, there is rarely a dull moment and the topics are wide and varied.

'cavaliers'- or is it '123'?

you can send a private message by signing in, clicking on 'messages' on the left of your ID, next to 'notifications'

then click on 'compose new message' and send a message to the ID you choose.

We are a varied lot mostly nice. There are the odd one or two who like to stir the pot, just ignore them.

Keep posting, have fun and it won't take you long to figure out who is genuine and who is not.

Will be good to chat while sipping - can't make coffee am in NSW.

Loneliness is an interesting state - one can be lonely in a crowd.

Do some good things for yourself - spoil yourself instead of the OH.

Read Richo - have no idea of the breed of dogs - his crystal ball working better than mine.

Names - girls or boys or both.????
