Asked for a quote for a simple enough job.

In excess of $4,000 - well I could re-do the bathroom again for that.

All you need is a power point.

Purchased a large water trough from the local Horse Produce store.

All up including the statue around $300.

Voila.

Oh forgot.

The pump is on a timer - automatically goes on & of depending on the length of time you want it to run.

I built my own water feature.............for a lot less than $4K

Here's the one on the back patio, total cost $150.....the water is piped up to the wooden cap, and trickles down the face through about 100 tiny holes..........

Wow, that is beautiful. Where do you live? Here in Melbourne we are not allowed to have a pond unless it is behind a child proof fence. 🙂

In this moment we are building extention and totally re-designing our garden; my plants are struggling in pots, my pond has been filled in, and fish live in an old bathtub on the patio. Should have ben done by September 😞

By the way, you do not need even a powerpoint, plenty of solar powered pumps on eBay. Mine squirts in pulses even under the shadecloth, and until dusk. It used to work better before the dogs ate the sprinkle attachment 🙂

I live in Oregon.........in the US. We are permitted to have a pond in the front yard as long as it doesn't exceed 16 inches in depth. There is no such thing as a child-proof fence, unless you're into razor wire, and even then there is no guarantee.

My power point is visible in the second picture, the 4x4 sticking up on the left. During construction I trenched a line out to the pond, fed it up through a pressure-treated 4x4, and used a GFI receptacle inside the 4x4. That way, I can illuminate it during festivities.........

Well, pool fencing, with no foothold and child safe latch is pretty good at keeping very small kids, those in most danger of drowning, out of danger. But of-course, there were cases of toddlers drowning in dish of water for the dog.
