At what point do you think People

Can be trusted to govern their own lives. This is a topic about humanity. I want to explore the idea that we as a human race, are ready to shed government and athority. Or if not now, then when? At what point can we be evolved enough as humanity to no longer need this system that has a strangle hold on it's subjects and is pulling them down, Heres a modern day MLK

This is not official yet, but my sources say the camera guy's friend has turned state's evidence against him, and he spilled the beans. It was a classic move, he was facing life in prison possibly for being an accomplice. They pulled the CCTV files from a WalMart in the area, and it clearly shows the friend buying Turtle Wax, Armor All, and Wesley's Blechewhite for the white walls. They had him dead to rights, he had no choice. It is nice to see the police dismantling these car wash gangs from the inside. To correct one guy who earlier said "OSS is operation safe streets" No, it isn't, not here anyway. OSS in NY is Operation Soap Suds.

Just spreading the love. Glad you agree people no longer need government. People aren't starting wars, killing, stealing, raping, Police and government is. They don't want us to realize we don't need them, that we can look after ourselves, they'd be out of work and we would be far better off putting all that money tward, well whatever we wanted to. Freedom is popular worldwide.

We do need some sort of Government, otherwise you would have anarchy - in other words, a mess.

Find for people like me who can readily feed and defend themselves but not nice for the average suburbanite.

It' just in Aus, we have far too much Gov't or too many layers - local, state, federal and too many do gooders

within them who try to tell you to the enth degree how to live. They are over protective.

Actually right now, it would my dad's neighbors, They seem ok, I trust them. But I do know what you mean, not all neighbors are so umm, neighborly. lol

Very good point, It is a radical idea though, I get that much. Do you think humanity will ever come to a point where there would be no need for such things, where we would no longer want or have a use for them? Do you think humans will be around long enough to get past our own monster we have created, then, will we be able to stop this monster, will this monster forsee this day coming and take steps to slow or stop our evolution?

People do kill and steal and rape. This is just another government/police bashing thread in a new dress.

But I will indulge you just this once. If what you say is true then those people wont stop doing the above just because there is suddenly no police or rules or government. They will still rape, steal, murder, and no doubt more as there would be no rules

Do you honestly believe that every rape, murder etc has been committed by either a police officer or a government official?

Explore away, but I think you'll find the answer is not while our collective a**es point to the ground.

What you are advocating is anarchy and while it might be a lovely ideal, in practice it doesn't work any better than Communism. In order for society to flourish without rules - and the enforcement of those rules - society as a whole would have to agree on what taxes to pay, what schools hospitals, roads, etc to build and the 'haves' would have to agree to share some of their wealth with the 'have nots. Human nature being what it is, I can't see that happening any time soon.

i can see your point you living in the USA.

it's the stuff of nightmares but be assured that it is not like that in the rest of the world.

there are a few countries where there is civilisation.

try france, canada, germany or denmark. if you can stand the cold weather denmark or sweden would be perfect for you. or poland.

the US is extreme in many aspects, do not think this is normal. it's sick and there are many countries that are very different.

I dunno. I like hospitals when i need one. I like roads and i like rules about roads so they are safe to use. I like that my kids go to school and learn stuff. I like having my bins collected. Who would do all that without government?

The whole topic is a fallacy. 'Evolved enough to shed govt'. Why is it assumed that being more evolved means no govt? I always thought stable society was a marker of positive evolution of human civilization. It is fairly new after all. I assume that while large populations live together in a society there will always be a need for rules and organization.

I guess when we blow ourselves up and the survivors go back to living in tribes then we won't need government.
