Coles brand tinned beetroot uses food acid from Malaysia so it cannot claim its home-grown beetroot is a domestic product.

Woolworths Select tinned peaches are "Made in Australia", but its four-pack tubs are "Made in Swaziland from imported and local ingredients".

Woolworths failed to disclose the origin of many of its products, while Simplot, which owns Edgell and Birds Eye, and Heinz, which owns Golden Circle, did not respond to questions.

Coles tinned peaches are a "Product of Australia", but pick up a seemingly identical four-pack of plastic tub peaches and you'll find they are "Made in China".

It used to be hard to find Australian product even 3 years ago but as long as you read the labels and you research the companies then it isn't so difficult these days. And these days even the prices are becoming similar.

There is very little food (or anything else) in our kitchen that isn't 100% Australian made.

I bought homebrand canned sliced peaches (only in 400g can), Aust grown but not very nice (must use lower quality fruit).

Changed to Aust brand, Aust grown (only in 800g can) and they are much better, but not available in smaller can.

And that's just a few

Asian and a lot of european growers spray their crops, after they have grown, with Dioxin to kill all the female seeds, that's why you can't save them and grow them again - remember, Dioxin was 1 of the main ingredents in Agent Orange.

Monsanto own Yates Seeds - Yates was just a trading name, ther true company name was 'Northern Seeds' Syngenta bought out Northern Seeds a long time ago - the only problem there is that Syngenta is an arm of Monsanto - once Monsanto got hold of Yates seeds 50% of them were destroyed - mailny the most popular selling ones - and the other 50%? they got genetically modified so you can only grow them once, if they grow that is.

Shout me down if you wish, but I have spent years researching Monsanto and all you have to do is type in what you want to know about them in Google

The Table below shows where your seeds and crops come from, it's probably higher percentages now - the Monsanto percentage is correct though, scary isn't it

I forgot this one - the reason you can buy juicy Strawberries 12 months of the year? they have been genetically modified with 'Salamander (newt) genes
