everywhere i go lately, i can not find regular coke. even at the service station theres nothing but life, lol

i have cut down on coke, but i do like a sip occassionally

Coca cola exists solely as an accompaniment to Bundaberg rum. It has no other purpose in life.

didn't they experiment on the population of Norfolk Island before they released it here? Has anyone grown two heads over there yet? That can't be blamed on genetics that is.

I took the opportunity recently to try both the "Green" and "Red" Cokes. (Haven't tasted Diet or Zero recently)

They each left the "icky-stickiness" in my mouth after swallowing.

They each had a distinct and quite strong aniseed flavour. (Have they changed the recipe of the "Red" I wonder?)

I used to like Ginger Beer too, but that tastes too sweet nowadays as well.

Note: I drink coffee mostly and have used saccharine tablets as sweetener for about 40 years.

I am still awaiting a response from Coca Cola (original), re a complaint. On two separate occasions I have found a foreign body in the shape of a capsule about ¾ of an inch in length, in the 1.25 litre bottles. When this is pulled apart - it's in two sections - the filling is a white paste-like substance. I have no doubt that perhaps this is something that's used in the production of the product, but if that's the case then it should be filtered out prior to bottling. The first incident I let pass, working on the premise that accidents do happen, and after all it wasn't a toad, or a dead rat, but on the second occasion I returned it to the supermarket. They told me they would return it to the bottling plant, but that it would also be better if I wrote to them myself. I declined their offer of another bottle.

Makes one wonder just what are the ingredients. One ingredient to counteract another ingredient's weakness?

Just read up on Anise/aniseed. Info gets a bit scary as one reads more and more and may bring on wrong conclusions without a scientific or ~~crook~~ cooking or health education.

Will be interesting to follow the response from Coca-Cola EMB. (And how big a garage you have for the"goodwill gesture" that could come your way following the "your concern is important to us" memo):smileylol:

No no no ....coke is for Scotch ...I got blitz on bundie 25 years ago ...cant stand the smell ofit now. Ouzo has only 2 mixers worthy of the same glass ...Red creaming soda (called a jelly bean) and the other is lime cordial ... splash of that , some Ouzo and a little soda water to dilute the lime cordial .... dam its still early morning and I have a 'thirst' now !
