Will this be the killing season for Mr Shorten? Will Labor move on him? to rid the party of the heartless union machine man

He's been made to look ineffectual by the Greens by trying to save pensions for the wealthy at the expense of the more deserving.

The Greens have struck a deal with the government to stop part pensions to millionaires and to reduce the part pension to people who own a house and assets over 1.1 million to make the pension more sustainable into the future and not a welfare hand out to the wealthy.

Is this the dream the Greens have been aspiring to for decades? to become the second and only dominant party to move forward and to take power in their own right., to kill off Labor?, to make Labor irrelevant?

De Natale has achieved what Milne couldn't, in one strike, they have struck at the very heart of this Labor party, Bill is too weak to do a thing about it, he is a weak leader who is tainted by union corruption, a leader who will not answer one question honestly, people don't like that and we are seeing just how much he's hated by the Labor party for what he did to two sitting Labor Prime Ministers.

This is a mighty blow for Labor, if the Greens don't back them up they are irrelevent. If the Greens smell blood, they will destroy Labor, it's what they have been trying to do for years.

Now even more damaging reports re Bill Shortens time leading the AWU, trading off the poorest workers wages and conditions to the tune of 6 million dollars whilst he and his union pocket thousands and get hundreds of phantom union members signed up to prop up his power in order to have more influence in the Labor party and its conferences

He’s gone to ground, scuttled away and ordered the RC to fast track him in order to stop the bleeding. Can this man seriously think he’s Prime minister material?

The modern Labor Party seems to have lost all concience and decency, they are there simply to gain power at the expense of decent working people and voters. Whatever it takes is their mantra.

those 24/7 pojects are different.

weI live a few Ks away from what they called an 'experiment" which was the Middleborough Rd. rail seperation and I think that was around 2006/2007 and was Vic's first 24/7 project.

They did it that way to cause less disruption to the rail service. they first worked on about 6 weekends (shutting down the trains) then it took them about 6 weeks to complete the project ( it was a major project costing around $60 million

. It was also done by John Holland. the workers worked around the clock in 3 shifts and i got the impression they were being highly paid as i spoke to man who was driving a truck to spray water on dust... can't remember what he was earning but it was a pretty high hourly rate and he was very happy to be doing it

Perhaps it might be advantageous to wait the outcome of the RC rather than making a judgement on the front pages of the MSM. It may well be that they're right and then again it may be that they're wrong but to condemn someone on a newspaper article is jumping the gun a bit. We know that the press are not to be trusted on political reporting so it will be interesting to see what the truth actually is.

I think this might apply to both sides don't you? Tony Abbott's said just this week "whatever it takes" regarding assylum seekers so it's used by both parties. And I think he has a lot to answer for regarding conscience and decency.

The outcome is not what is important with this RC. The aim is to tarnish Shorten and Labor to damage their electoral prospects. His appearance was timed to coincide with the election campaign. Abbott doesn't play the game by the rules. He plays the person and has no policy so can't win the honest way. It is all about the game and winning for him. That is his end game. The business of government is a messy annoying disruption to his game.

I agree AB, however if this was not practised here: "to condemn someone on a newspaper article", there would be a reduction of partisan political commentary together with: far less flying sand and Kudos, (and of course chuckles)

I suppose not bringing it up at all along with the damaging Killing Season would suit just about everybody on here. The old "move along, nothing to see here" the mantra of the comrades.

Now Mr Shorten wants all the documents and a heads up on all the questions the RC wants him to answer. He has no documents to clear himself and no memory of what went on all those years he was the union boss.

But he does have a clear and concise memory of being a wonderful human being, his whole raison d'etre to do good works according to him.
