Putting your less-than-perfect-self out there conditions you for criticism.

The people who get the most respect aren't the perfect people in life; they are the ones who can be confident in spite of what isn't perfect about themselves.

Just a reminder for those of you who aren't feeling so great today 🙂

I've learnt to weather the harshest of all those who criticise me; myself.

I've learnt to smile and be gracious about the imperfections that I have, that others love, that I perhaps don't.

They see the good in me that I'm still coming to accept is there.

I don't unconditionally love "Me", but by the same token I don't think I'm all that bad, either.

Getting to the point of liking me took time. It does, for everyone. Getting to like themselves, that is.

I don't know where I started, I don't really know that I made a conscious choice. I don't know that it was the influence of people around me, who liked me, that pointed me in that direction. I didn't wake up one day and say to myself "You know, I like you...". I guess that like all things in life it happened in it's own time.
