What's something crazy you like that only one other person in your life understands? Maybe a favourite hobby, a certain type of music you like, etc. Maybe you could show them some appreciation today 🙂

I don't know, lots of stuff, I probibly wouldn't be allowed to post about it here. Oh wait, there has to be one person who understands?, well then, nothing I guess.

Maybe a favourite hobby, a certain type of music you like, etc. Maybe you could show them some appreciation today

I recently got into doll collecting, this might fit into your "thrifting" topic as well. I cleaned out a thrift store of 9 collectable dolls. Currently looking for ways to display them. Gonna have to build something and make stands. Some don't have shoes, so I have to find or make tiny shoes for them.

Doll collecting sounds really interesting. I'm sure you've read on other threads that I used to collect golliwogs, but I know there's a *lot* of controversy about them. Currently mine sit on an armchair, but stands are a great idea.

Well 3 of them already have stands, the rest don't, Some as I mentioned don't have shoes, However it looks to me like alot went into their dresses alone, considering what I paid for them, I think it's a good start to a collection.

I have a couple cabnets with glass doors, but would need to cut out the middle shelf, or maybe part of it to display them standing up. They all came with boxes and certificates of authenticity.

golliwogs, no idea what those are. But if you like them, thats all that matters. A friend of mine told me she collected dolls, turned out to be barbie dolls. I called her to get some feedback on my recent collection, but she never got into those kinds.

Sounds like you have quite a collection coming along... and that's great that you got them even with certificates of authenticity. Sounds like a bit of DIY on your cabinet, and turning your hand to making dolls shoes, is next on the list 🙂

In real and virtual life I collect people.

These are a few of my "Collection", ones I have met in real life and interacted with.

A real princess, some world renowned entertainers, a famous ballet dancer, an opera singer, 2 top movie stars, an accused murderer,

a world famous Australian entrepreneur, several politicians ( of all 3 colours) a jet fighter pilot, the youngest professor in the southern hemisphere, world famous musicians ( both classical and popular) the top jazz singer of her day and her musician husband, 2 police commissioners, a Sydney/Hobart yachtsman, a 100 year old man, a billionaire, several homeless by choice people................and the list goes on

jessicadazzler, if you travel and interact you too might be able to start a collection 🙂

My collection has vast advantages over most collections.

It is varied.

Takes up no storage space.

Never needs dusting

You do not have ti insure it.

It is interactive.

I do collect people, but instead of trying to interact with inspiring people, I look for the inspiration in the people already in my life. Some of the people I'm most proud to know are people in my everyday life. But I do hope to meet more amazing people in the coming years 🙂

Jessicadazzler, I would not pull your leg, and by the way that list is only part or the most colourful and high profile ones in my "collection"

If you are searching for inspiration than surely the wider the circle of people you have the more varied and interesting your inspiration would be. 🙂

That's true, and I do certainly plan to travel more and meet more people, but I also don't want to be ungrateful for the people that are already in my life 🙂

Um, no. Not what I had in mind, but it's an interesting suggestion.

It did bring to mind an ex girlfriend who was well endowed.

She hated it.

She hated the back pain, she hated the shoulder pain, she hated not being able to sleep comfortably, she hated not not being able to get clothes that fitted, she hated being leered at, or glared at, she hated being treated like an airheaded bimbo.

At the risk of sounding cliched it wasn't her figure that attracted me, she was brilliant, imaginative, artistic, she was beautiful in so many ways. I remember feeling intensely happy, when I was with her.

It was nice, remembering her.
