Dog cooling pad

My old dog did not cope very well with the warm night last night and spent most of it sooking at me, so, I was wondering if anyone has used a cooling mat for their dog and if it works.

you could have a test run with a water bottle with some fridge water in some dogs dont actualy like the feel of something too cold even in the heat

it might give you an idea of if theyed like it or not

specialy if there old and have any artheritis

You could also try a neck cooler; these work as well for dogs as they do for humans:)

We have one for each dog and they are used when they travel in the car in hot weather,(they both use them).

One of them had a towel on theirs to start with but he removed it and lay on the mat itself.

Each dog is different but it works for them,

they often sell cooling pads for people.

Lots of interesting stuff in those stores, wish I could read the labels !

Somebody I knew years ago used to use gel packs, the kind you put in the freezer, that they got from a chemist. They'd freeze them and then wrap them in towels. I only remember because they were going to make their fortune with a mat that had pockets in it that you could put the gel packs in. I don't know if their dog thought that was such a good idea, or not.

have to freeze - its called pet

cooling mat.

Thank you. I didn't realise that they came in freezable and non-freezable - I really should do some research. My dog is a lab/GSD x so she is a decent size but my freezer, however, is not.
