We had an outside toilet years ago which was the old pan toilet the building was made from iron but it did have a wooden door

i remember painting it hot pink. lol

i also remember my poor old dad have to go empty it too.

Yep me too. The old pink flowered vine seemed to be the only thing holding the galvanised tin shed up. Hated when my sister discovered that scraping her fingernails down that tin would give me the heebie jeebies.

Dad dabbed a bit of white paint on a few stones to guide us to our destination in the dark - we would have been 4-5yo. I can't recall what lighting we used, if any.

Dad used a bit of left over DX Eucalyptus antiseptic from the chook sheds to freshen things up.Still didn't cover the smell of the tar-painted pan completely though.

Hopefully the UN will funnel some money into the countries who residents still poo in the open then. Or to Liberia, where in the slums, one toilet is meant to cater for dozens of families...

It blows my mind in this day and age that there are people living in the world that still dont have toilets (or at least a toilet) to use in their home... They are forced to sometimes travel a few blocks to get to the "communal" toilet or just find a spot on the beach or wherever and squat.
