You are right, She Ele, some people don't know where the line begins or ends.

The incident in Germany only inflamed more anti-refugee minds in Europe, and made the racists more determined to voice their opinions on matters they only partially understand.

For instant; my family could fight amongst each other like cats and dogs, but let an outsider attack one of my family, then my whole family will retaliate and protect the one family member. Right or wrong.

Such is the mentality of people from one country or from one region.

Unfortunately there is nothing we Down Under can do about it, but learn from their mistakes.

Unfortunately, not just the one, incident.

There were many attacks, in many German cities.

There have been attacks of a sexual nature in Sweden and Denmark, also.

Austria, is running out of shotguns, as citizens arm themselves for what they see as the need for self-protection.

Finland, has a vigilante group swearing to protect the country from similar attacks.

Angela Merkel, has said they "lost control".

The question is, if a country lets in an enormous number of people, how can they assume, control?

There needs to be more than adequate housing, medical care, upfront...then language, education in general, employment opportunities...

Many, many things to be thought of, and put into place, before mass arrivals.

For anyone unaware of this, 650 women have filed criminal complaints over such incidents. The situation is not about race to me, but the behaviour of anyone who would perpetrate a sexual attack. It is horrendous.

More than 650 complaints of sexual assault, assault and robbery; and rising.

And not just in Cologne, but in other cities, in other parts of Europe.

The common factor in those offending is that they were young men. but more specifically, young Muslim men.

The Charlie Hebdo cartoon is offensive and it's meant to be. It's meant to underline the fact that Muslim boys who grow up to become Muslim men are taught a certain attitude towards women, and the cartoon is critical of this attitude.

The boys will grow up absorbing a certain taught attitude.

Anyone who understands what Islam teaches will know what this attitude is. (and anyone who has to ask what that is, just needs to read the Koran or visit some relevant website where Islam is explained by those who support it.

It is what it is and it doesn't need sources critical of Islam to give a bad impression. The supportive literature is shocking enough in its expression of contempt for other religions, other cultures, and for its attitudes towards women.

That's the common factor. a certain culturally taught attitude. and it's taught by the religion of Islam.

So, what is really offensive in that cartoon? What I find offensive is that becasue of what Islam teaches, the scenario that cartoon predicts is probably an accurate one.

The Jesuits knew what they were about when they said "Give me the child until he is seven and I'll show you the man" (there are variations on this statement but they all ackowledge that a child may be moulded and shaped for life by the attitudes and the lessons they are taught when very young . . . for those who disagree with me, I can only advise them to read the literature and fully acquaint yourselves with what Islam actually teaches, and then to sit and think on it for a while)

The teaching of violence against women isn't unfortunately just restricted to Muslims. Have a look at this petition. These guys actively teach DV. They come from America, not sure of their religion. Not that it matters. Anyone who teaches others to inflict violence on others is disgusting.

the whole world supported Charlie Hedbo in the face of terrorism we also support free speech, we were outraged when their staff were murdered however that doesn't mean everyone thinks their cartoons are in good taste

It (the cartoon) is not having a go at the people who believe such things. To make that claim is a sort of doublethink and it's mistaken.

The cartoon is having a go at the culture and the cultural beliefs of certain male people who think that women are not and can never be, their equals just because they are women and who, because of that, may be exploited at will for their personal gratification.

when the reality is that they are profoundly ignorant and/or extemely tolerant of an idea/ideology which is oppressive of women and which would lay some really heavy oppression on them personally were those ideas to be supported by a majority of people in their immediate locale.

Support for an idea should only credibly exist in a condition of understanding. but I think that some people only wish to offer support because it makes them appear to be understanding.

The ideas are those things which need to be understood and it's not enough to offer an understanding arm of support to an idea about which we steadfastly choose to remain ignorant. (just because we want to appear to be fair and supportive and understanding)

is it ok to;

Offer support from a position of understanding and agreement that women are not and never can hope to be the equals of men?

To offer support from a position of understanding that the code of laws laid down to be followed is rightly that of the religious establishment and not that of the civil ?

Offer support to the people oppressed by such a system by all means, but by no means offer support to the oppressive ideas themselves or to the system or organisation which espouses and teaches them.

Please resist the desire to appear to be PC and tolerant of difference only for appearances sakes.

Please be aware of what that difference is and be brave and oppose ideas which teach oppression and enslavement.

Don't strive in ignorance to appear to be understanding and tolerant.

Strive to be intolerant of oppression. Strive for the Enlightenment. Strive for equality. Strive for this for others as well as for oneself.

So the 'open door / free movement' policy of the accursed EU has bit her on the bum. Well what a surprise. Hopefully we in the UK will be free of this restricted and arm-tying nonsense, dished out by the suits in Brussels...fingers crossed on that one. There is a vast housing shortage here, the National Health Service is stretched far beyond it's breaking point, and our schools are creaking under the strain. I am not a fan of 'Call Me Dave' - in fact I can't abide the man - but at least he is trying to do something re immigrants claiming full benefits the moment they land on these shores. The rest could be improved by waving a fond farewell to the EU.

Regarding the illegal ones who have managed to bypass our stupid Border Patrols - not difficult it seems - the moment the authorities locate them, what do they do ? They allow them bail to return with the necessary papers - which they haven't got because they've destroyed them - and so they subsequently disappear into the night again. It's total stupidity in the extreme.

The accurate stats show that reported crime against refugees in Europe is 10x that of crime supposedly done by refugees. Their fascist government is whipping up the fear in the community using tactics straight out of Hitler's book, their media is also helping, and although so far they actually do not have any refugee except those who are either put into detention or just bused across their territory to Germany, people there are petrified of anybody with darker skin.

I take it that you don't know all that much about Charlie Hebdo and their particular type of satire? Sure, it is often tasteless and controversial but it does reflect the fickleness and ugliness of society. In this particular case, on the one hand, people cry over the death of a refugee muslim boy while on the other hand, the very same people condemn all refugee muslim adult men as being sex offenders.

As for your preaching, well, when you know exactly what I do and don't support, believe, etc, then feel free to preach to me but until then, you are wasting your time as well as being mistaken.

For instance, I am an athiest and have little respect for religion , or the misuse of, but I do have the education to know not to tar every believer with the same brush, nor, demand that they abandon their religion. Muslims come from varied backgrounds with most being moderate. Fundamentalists/extremists are the ones who do what you accuse me of supporting. I do not support these people.

Being PC is not in my vocabularly because I have no need of it, and it is a shame that the term is needed, anyway, and a bigger shame that it is often used as an insult.

I am who I am, imperfectly perfect, and I am definitely not one for conforming or doing anything for appearance's sake. lol
