Better keep a few "lucky" 5c pieces just for your scratching purposes.

Yes. Keep some lucky 5 cent pieces.

I have about 300 of them in my small change jar if you want some.

Other useful tools. Guitar plectrums and credit cards. You can even buy a pick punch to make a plectrum out of your credit card.

I occasionally come across the old one and two cent pieces ......when I up-end my various money boxes/piggies scouring for loose change-well one money pig is actually a princess wearing a crown (travelling at high speed in a pink and purple car holding onto her flailing handbag/purse!!).

What I miss since our old coin currencies have been taken out of circulation are the Aussie animals found on the reverse sides of these coins. I remember and miss these guys 😞

e.g. one cent - Feathertail Glider (Acrobates pygmaeus)

two cent - Frill-Necked Lizard (Chlamydosaurus kingii)

....and I will miss our Echidna

In which case they should construct a new currency that is 1/10th of the current dollar.

That way 10c will become 1(1c etc) of the new currency.

I don't want to count my money in 100's or 1000's.

Wonder how many people here have found a 2007 5 cent coin with Queen's effigy on both sides. In Uncirculated state they have sold for $5,000. It's interesting to see some familiar ids still kicking 5 years on .

Just googled. You're right. I'v been spending my time looking for the $1 Queen's head Mule. Now it seems they're counterfeiting it.

Off to look..................I have bags of 5c coins. What's my luck?
