Russia has a decent military and USA is stretched out fighting many fronts with a tired military.

Russia has already stated that they dont want war but wont back away from it.

USA had an option on the table over the fake chemical weapon attack that included attacking Russian bases.

I think it is a given that Russia will respond militarily against USA next time or soon after.

USA has a first strike nuclear policy as does Russia and China.

There are enough other "players" in the world that would be happy to stage a decoy to inflame two "super"

powers against each other so that they can pick up the pieces and gain more control themselves.

For the US and Russia to attack each other would be sheer stupidity and it would only benefit others,
