Has the story of King Kanute been completely forgotten

I'm glad that I don't live in a low lying coastal zone.
If I did I'd be selling up.
In the article they say that it's impossible to move to higher ground. I'd say that the money being spent to maintain existing shorelines is going to far out way the amount that would be required to just move

i live about 500 meters from the high tide mark at an elevation of about 15 meters up. so although i believe eventually the water might well reach my house it wont be while i'm alive.

there is a row of homes in front of me one level down so should the water invade further inland they will be washed away fist, there are a couple of people 'down there' id be quite happy to watch their houses floating out to sea.

and then id be able to fish from right out front of my house, very cool.

ive seen videos of houses getting washed away by huge storms, as i said, watching some of my neighbours second homes washing away would be just fine.

i hope they get to a point where no one will insure them for being in a tidal area.

as for the ones i dont know, well they chose to build there, hard luck if they get washed away.

you see when i moved here there were no houses in front of me, and i was told by the developer there never would be, but he lied.

now my uninterupted view is of very shinny corrugated iron roofs and frequent groups of 'holiday' makers. the property right in front of me is a holiday rental. funny how people who rent a place for a holiday think a holiday means making life for those all around them miserable. loud music, partys, yelling, shooting off fireworks. ect ect.

so rising water? bring it on!
