BLOKES THREAD-aimed at blokes-shielas welcome.

Seems to be a lack of threads for blokes.
On other threads,some ladies have mentioned, their OHs
would post, but had no interest in most of the threads on offer.
I can bump this thead twice a day,so its easy to find.

Loris, he didn't have a lazy eye. One of the muscles behind the eye didn't develop properly before birth so he has one very weak eye. They have been trying to strengthen it for a couple of years (which doesn't always work) and just the last couple of months, the weak eye started to turn. They wanted to straighten it immediately in case it interferred with them trying to strengthen it. If it shows no improvement by the time he's 8, there will probably be no improvement. He is nearly 6.

Sandy, so the weak eye started to turn and thwart all the exercises, what a bummer. I get it, operation to keep it straight. (I think I got it).
With my son when he was much younger, I was very diligent with the eye exercises but to no avail, and in the end the operations solved all the issues, thank god.

I do believe in the whole eye exercise thing still. Although saying that, my eyesight is slipping and I'm forever trying to find the magnifying eyeglasses and where I last put them, must get another pair or 3.
I wonder how long before I spend the dollars and get proper glasses, or weigh up the options and look into laser treatment, at this stage know nothing much about it. But it sure would beat searching for the b****y glasses all the time.

lol Loris, I was the same. Got glasses now and realise I should have got them a long time ago.

The treatment for James eye is not for straightening. He has to wear a patch on the good eye so he uses the weak eye more and hopefully improve it - not much improvement over 2 years. He also has atrovent drops that not only open the eye but freezes it so it is used more and his glasses have the lens over his good eye blurred a little. His mum is not keen on the drops as they can slightly damage the good eye which she wants to protect that so they are going back to the patch only for more hours and giving the drops a miss.

Hope it is just richo's computer.

Thanks jv - they were very pleased as the two eyes are working in unison and it usually takes a little while. Back to 4 hours of patching each day to try and get the weak eye to strengthen.

Maybe richo has gone out for dinner?? C'mon richo - check in time!

Yes isnt it marvellous what can be done to help and correct we are so very lucky to be living in this country with the quality of doctors at our fingertips.

The young shaver together with a whole contingent of his work mates are off to down one or 2 cans......meeting up with my mad mate......who can out drink anyone lol

Morning all, a lovely morning it is too.

And when I look at my backyard it doesn't look like a construction site, and after levelling out all the extra dirt and seeding it for grass I now have a green tinge all over it - the full moon has helped.
Today I can wear a dress, off into town to do some paid work.

Richo, you must feel blessed, look how everyone worried about you, glad you have a long weekend coming up.
JV, tradies are wonderful after they've done the job eh? I have all the painting yet ahead for me. Have already sanded and oiled and cleaned my timber windows and doors and washed and ironed all the curtains. Gold Coast here we come, soon.

Loris I am about to oil my new ramp, that should be fun, last time I painted I fell off the kadder into the paint tray, LOL, at least it's not that far to fall.

Louise is coming over today to visit her Dad while I do a few jobs, good kids they are.
