Itis a pity that families that have these expensive appliances for the use of disabled family members don't take basic precautions to keep them safe.

i guess it is easy enough to plead with the public for donations to replace it or for the NDIS to come to the party.

Too true, Lyndal.

The $25,000 Tobii Eye Gaze computer was stolen from Natalie Armitstead's unlocked car parked on the Esplanade in Largs Bay on Saturday night.

An opportunistic thief would only see it as a tablet worth stealing. They'll throw it away

when they find out it's not good as a computer.

It is possible that the vehicle was left unlocked accidentally.
I went to Adelaide one time and left my back door open.
Not just unlocked and I can assure you that it was an accident.
Luckily the crime rate is really low where I live.
It could have been worse and they could have had their window smashed to gain access.
I had the window in my ute smashed in Ballarat because there was an Australia post box with a rusty worthless CBA money box that I couldn't give away in it and a brown paper shopping bag with a pair of dirty socks inside that they stole.
I stupidly didn't think that they would be tempting to a thief.
I bet they weren't happy with their haul
Also I don't have to lock my car at home so I forgot how much crime is elsewhere

Sorry, but living in the city, you never leave anything in sight in a car, nor do you put

anything in the boot after you park.

Put everything in the boot before you get there.

They have eyes everywhere, and watch for any behaviour that they can exploit.
