How did this happen ?

Apparently it was a 35 C day.

Perhaps the child wandered into the bus and couldn't get out.

Why didn't someone make sure all children were off.

How tragic and horribly sad for the childs family..

At a guess I would say someone DIDN`T do their job correctly

How come nobody missed him? Surely you have to count the kids getting on, then count them getting off.

The driver might have been wearing shoes. 1-10, then many.

So two people failed to ensure that all the children were off the bus.
Pretty sad that two people could be that incompetent and no one else wasn't concerned that a child that obviously was regularly attending wasn't there that day

The child was just 3 years old....somebody must have put him in a child restraint of some sort....why would they not have checked that he had been removed when they reached their destination.

It is only a mini bus.....a glance from the front of the bus should have revealed that there was still a child there.

as readers of shocking news stories we allways have the 'why' questions which we rarely hear an answer to.

like the lady and her kids that exhubby set on fire, why were they in a car with him with a can of petrol?

havent heard any reason, just lots of stories of how nuts the guy was.

As I read the story the mother was taking the kids to school and they were ambushed by the father with a can of petrol.

It often depends on which version of the story you read as to how accurate it is.

modern cars and that looked like a modern car, have central locking doors, just flick the switch.

then drive away from the crazy man.

i wasnt there but these are questions that are in my head.

From what i read he wasn't inside the car but was outside and poured the petrol on the roof.

How impossibly incompetent are these two.
So the chiid wasn't picked up in the first run.
A return trip was made for the sole purpose of picking up this one child.
They return to the centre and just left the child to die.
People make mistakes but this is absolutely unbelievable.
They better both go to gaol

Poor little guy was the only passenger on the bus and only 2 seats behind the driver.

"This is an act of criminal negligence, appalling in its nature," Senior Sergeant Marcum said.

"In that 4.5 kilometres, this child was forgotten.

"There wasn't even a cursory glance."

Agreed.....they better go to jail

as a sosciety we have been lulled into a false sense of security

we leave little billy or betty with strangers and go off to do our lives

all the time trusting these strangers will take care of the kids

well sometimes strangers dont live up to the requirements

yes, these people will most likely go to jail, but it will never bring the little boy back.

but what can you do?

not leave very small kids with strangers?
