Tom Hanks hospitalised with coronavirus

Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson are in an Australian hospital after contracting coronavirus.

The actor issued a statement on Thursday saying they had felt run down with fevers and body aches, and so presented themselves to hospital for testing.

The pair are in Australia while Hanks films an upcoming Elvis biopic.

it's probably a lot easier to get the test done here than it is in the U.S.

people are saying that testing isn't readily available and I think they have to pay a lot for it

I said they won't have to wait.

The money for it won't be a problem, wherever it comes from.

All I am guessing (and i could be wrong) is that he didn't have to wait in a queue like this in Melbourne.

These people are waiting to get tested. I imagine some of them have symptoms like the flu so may not be feeling the best. Yet they are all asked to queue outside, no seats.
If this is how it is now, when our corona virus patient numbers are under 500, we're in for a rough ride ahead, I think.

This is what I mean though. You have a queue of people here in Melb, all waiting to be tested, so presumably are either ill or been in contact with someone who may be, and they have not been taken to a room with chairs, they have not been given masks to wear while waiting.

And things are not even that dire here yet.

A case for medicare-private - what do they ask ? anyone here with private insurance ? and then directed to room B

However keep in mind that in some other countries - no paid up insurance , no treatment or testing
