My mulberry tree has been non productive for a few years now. I dont know what the solution is. I put it down to not enough water (drought years ) and the warmer spring seasons. I barely get any fruit and it drops off before it ripens.

I'm hoping there are some folks here that could give me advice on our Mulberry Tree that is approx 20 years old. Every year the fruit forms but then shrivels and drops off. The leaves are always healthy and shiny. This year noticed there is more fruit than usual and a nice size. On closer inspection instead of going red it looks like they are going brown and also the leaves are smaller than usual.

Pic attached,

I don't know much about mulberry trees other than my neighbour's tree produces deep purple fruit that leave deep purple stains on my feet. However, in conversation I was told that mulberry trees need annual pruning or else long-term overgrowth may affect the leaves and fruit, especially during dryer periods.
