Long Labour Day Weekend here in NSW, so Hubs and I went to see the movie "Tenet" which had been recommended to us.

What a load of garbage! The background music was often so loud you couldn't hear what the actors were saying. The plot kept switching from the future to the present, totally hard to keep up with.

It was overlong at 3hrs 20 mins.

The violence and destruction was horrifying and the special effects were so over the top as to be ridiculous.

On the other hand, we're going to see another movie tomorrow, Monday, "Dirt Music"

It's based on the book by Tim Winton, which was a great story. Filmed in WA and the scenic photography is said to be spectacular.

Hope it's not disappointing. I have yet to see a movie of a book I've read live up to expectations.

We'll see.

Icy, always check the official trailers on-line instead of taking someone else's recommendation.

Save yourself a lot of time wasting and money.

Interesting review of Tenet Icy. I went over to IMDB.com ..... my go to for movie reviews and there are mixed reviews, as usual, but all agree that the audio was terrible and that mostly none could understand what the movie was about. So you're not alone by far. Guess who won't be seeing it!

I'l be interested in your review of Dirt Music, I haven't read his new book yet but plan to soon. I'm a top fan of his.

Unfortunately, it hasn't received good reviews, Bright.
We'll still go and see it though.
All critics agree the scenery is it's saving grace.
I loved the book.

Went to see it yesterday and liked it. It kept to the book as much as possible, considering Tim Winton's stories are so rich in characters and events.

The acting was good and the actors were well cast in their roles.

The scenery was spectacular as predicted.

The ending was a bit improbable, but close to the book.

I listened to the producer being interviewed on the radio, and he discussed the difficulty in logistics getting camera crews and equipment, actors from Perth to some of the remote locations in northern WA.

Well worth going to see IMO.

Oh yes that looks good. I remember there was a real life case like that a few years ago in the US where the farmer took on Monsanto because they were stopping him from using his own heritage seeds.
Unfortunately they won and he was a broken man.

If you've not yet watched Little Fish, it is worth a look.

Free Guy is a humorous bit of frivolity, enjoyable but not deep.

Oxygen - I haven't seen it yet, but it sounds knuckle-biting.

I'm giving Infinite a miss. It looks run-of-the-mill and the premise is stupid.

Matrix 4 is going to be released in December, and we can only hope it's more like Matrix 1 than Matrix 3.

And... I am sure I saw some release information about Foundation (based on Asimov's intriguing novel series).

I saw Free Guy at the Drive In last Saturday. Good on the big screen.
