If an OP ignoring comments while going on and on and on about drivel is ignorance, then I guess that is their right.

Are you saying people who don't agree with you are ignorant or that ignorant people are evil?

I respect your right to post drivel. If that is ignorant, on your part, that seems to be your right.

So it would seem ignorance is a right.

It isn't actually a right, more a condition.

Depending on where you live. Australians have very few rights.

I don't respect ignorance. As stated here many times, people who constantly go on about "rights" are often the ones who cannot accept the responsibilities that accompany "rights". Playing the "it's my right" card is often a cop-out excuse for making inane comments.

Usually those who "choose to be ignorant" and "not get educated" are the ones most vocally demanding that everyone else respects their "rights" (mostly entitlements) that they believe are theirs for achieving birth.

I will leave it to the reader to decide if these beliefs should be respected...

Anyone has a right to be anything they want and think how they want and take on board what they want. But when their ignorance becomes a burden to others then they should expect some form of education to come their way.

Before asking a question of that sort, perhaps it would be a good idea for you to disclose whether you consider yourself ignorant or not ignorant, educated or not educated.

Remember to include the sort of education that you have received, and whether you have any unconscious bias based upon your education, in spite of your education, or resulting from your lack of education.

To answer those things, a large panel of experts from many different fields may be required. Some of the fields may be cotton, for life outside the more traditional spheres may teach wisdom.

It would be easy for me to mock certain beliefs and perspectives. I might from some mockery gain the euphoria of Schadenfreude and a wonderfully puffed-up bosom like a pouter pidgeon. The satisfaction of disdaining others and praising oneself, whether it is implicit or explicit, is (in my view) in some respects like eating a truck-load of sugar-free gummy bears. The immediate gratification gives way, sooner or later, to visceral discomfort and much crying and promising never to do it again.

Disclosure: I am not a sugar-free gummy-bear over-eater and the experience mentioned is not one through which I personally have gone.

Genuine humility is a by-product of genuine wisdom. I hope we can all work towards that.
