I pray to win lotto every week, but apparently the allmighty has a wicked sense of humour, as I don't count a $10 return on a $40 investment as winning.

gutterpunkz, you might have come across this joke before, but in case you haven't...

A blonde - let's call her Loretta - was in dire financial trouble. She prayed, "Oh Lord, please let me win this week's Lotto. I need the money to get out of this terrible trouble. Please!"

The winning numbers were announced. Loretta didn't win. She prayed again, tears streaming from her face: "Oh Lord, please, please, please! I don't have any other way of getting out of this trouble. Please let me win Lotto this week!"

Again, she didn't win. Loretta got down on her knees and prayed as never before: "Oh, please, Lord! Please, please! Pleeeeease, let me win Lotto this week!"

And... a voice came from Heaven: "Loretta, you're going to have to have to do something here; can you at least buy a ticket?"

I've always enjoyed that one.

I have another.

Man was driving to the airport to catch a flight but was running late, caught in traffic, so he began to pray.

"Lord, help me out here, please let me find a parking spot at the airport without too much trouble so i can be on my way quickly".

As the traffic situation didn't let up, he kept praying at intervals.

'Lord, i really need to get parked immediately once I get there, please save a spot for me."

And as the situation became more dire.

" I need a spot immediately and Lord, please not too long a walk from the terminal."

And on it went.

At last he turned into the airport and lo and behold, there was a spot. Not only was there a spot, it was right at the front, as close to the terminal as you could get. So he said his last prayer, "Don't worry Lord, you don't have to bother, I've found a spot by myself."

It has been said that prayer can move mountains.

What I have heard is that some amazing things have happened after people have prayed and there's no earthly explanation as to how a such miracle has come about. I do not doubt that there's something in all of this. When I hear folks say that they believe that there's a higher, a much higher power above us, I consider them to be on to something.

Billions of people around the world pray to their god or deity. The law of averages would suggest that many prayers would come true. If each person believed their god answered their prayer, then it would mean there are many gods from many religions. At best, this would make the Christian God only one of a number of gods. But maybe there is another explanation why some prayers appear to come true, and why "miracles" appear to happen?

You mean all the others were praying to a false, lesser or non existent god. OR that parramatta were just a better team on the night
