Ipad/Tablet question

who uses one to access fb n ebay n play games etc and how do they go about using internet .... i use a dongle on the netbook for mobile internet when in hospital as hate using phone....just asking cause might buy one if they are easy to use instead of lugging netbook with me

tablets come with wifi or 3/4G and wifi.

the 3/4G versions are mobile, working the same as the dongle and the others you will need a phone to tether to or a wifi network to connect to. Maccas have free wifi for example... and a few other places. Mostly is Aus there are not too many wifi hotspots yet.

i looked at the tablets they come with a few cables....

Rach and I use them all the time we have an ipad a blackerry playbook and an acer all great and easy to user

am selling my blackberry to get one of the new windows surface tablets with window 8

i love my toys :^O

Most only come with a cable for power.

Dongle don't fit Galaxy or ipad.

The 3/4G ones take a sim card which you should be able to transfer from dongle to device.

and 5 devices can run of it at one time

costs about $80 and is prepaid

I think you can just charge it and you do not have to have it connected to your device eg ipad

they are much easier to take to hospital I have taken my lappy 3 times but its so cumbersome next time would take a tablet and most hospitals have wifi so you shouldnt have any problem using the net

I would not buy a tablet of the internet - no idea of the quality and no help if it breaks down.

TVSN has Toshiba tablets - abit more expensive but a good name and better after purchase service

what about a ipad - I LOVE mine and use a Telstra prepaid card - costs $30 and easily topped up via a voucher or over the internet.

I got the shop to put the card in and set it all up for me

Big W have the older version quite cheap now or I would get the new version with the lightning charger rather than the old 30 pin charger

Although it is advertised as 3G it clearly is not.

They have sold out and you won't get it in time for the 16th.

I have noticed a lot of sellers passing off wifi as 3G. They're not 3/4G unless they take a sim card. That is a wifi device and you will need to tether to phone or buy a wifi hotspot device.

If you are with Telstra you might get a good deal packaged with phones for a 3/4G. It might be handy on the farm eventually, or travelling.

That unit says it has GPS but you need an antenna to use GPS or you need to tether it to 3/4G phone to use GPS while travelling.

The listing is not as honest as I'd like it to be if I was going to buy from them. I think they make it sound better than it is.
