I have recently bought two items using click and collect (diferent sellers) on both items eBay says wait until i get a message saying item ready for collection.

According to my purchase history they are in transit.

When I went the newsagent the other day they said we have got a parcel for you and it had been there for over a week!

Secong item I bought never arrived so i had to contact seller who eventually gave me a shipping reference, Surprise surprise apparently it is at my local post office waiting for collection (post office closed today).

Why do I not get any notification that the items have arrived and are ready for collection?

This is really frustrating

J

I have never used click and collect as there are far too many posts here on the forum with people having all kinds of issues with it

But I must say that so far I have not heard of click and collect being sent to a newsagent or post office, I have only ever heard of such purchases (when bought from sellers on eBay) going to Wollies or Big W

I have no idea why you're not getting notifications.

Be aware that you are not contacting ebay here. You will need to ask them these questions.

We are only volunteer members.

Top of the page is a Help button. Scroll down to 'Have us call you'

Bear, apparently they can be sent to Parcel Points as well now.

https://www.ebay.com.au/help/buying/postage-delivery/changing-delivery-address-method/click-collect?id=4055&st=3&pos=2&query=Buying%20with%20Click%20&%20Collect&intent=click%20and%20collect&context=9053_BUYER&lucenceai=lucenceai

Where were the items supposed to be collected from?

As far as I am aware the ebay Click and Collect is supposed to be collected from a local Woolworths or BigW of your choice.....ypo make your choice from the list when you are checking out.

Collecting from a Post Office or Newsagent is usually associated with a courier delivery or Australia Post.

@stockalper,

This is one reason why I would never select Click and Collect for an eBay purchase. (Click and Collect from shops such as David Jones, Myer, Woolworths, Coles, to name just a few, are a different thing entirely.)

Click and Collect on eBay involves another party in the chain of delivery, and also means that a fourth party is involved. This correspondingly means additional chances for things to go wrong.

For example...

The system whereby eBay is notified of the delivery might go wrong.

The system whereby eBay notifies YOU of the delivery details might go wrong - and demonstrably has, many times

The supermarket staff might not be able to locate the parcel

The supermarket staff might have stored the parcel incorrectly

... and those are just a few examples of the additional risks.

<LI-SPOILER>
When you select Click & Collect for an order from David Jones, for instance, it's all handled by David Jones.

❝Click & Collect allows you to order online and pick up your purchase free from your favourite David Jones store.

We will send you a Ready for Collection email when your order is ready.❞

In my opinion, eBay's Click & Collect is too many cooks spoiling the broth, quite apart from the fact that sellers have to actually post the item and thus there's a postage cost.
</LI-SPOILER>

OMG...that is very new Stawks. They are also making note of the C & C from the retailer's own store.

However, the buyer still has to nominate the location for pickup....surely they would know if they nominated Woolworths/BigW but the item went to the post office?

All too much for me.....I am very unlikely to use it now with so many variables.

Heck, eBay can't work out even simple as simple things, no wonder with a whole new bunch of 'stuff' added to the mix the notifications vanished somewhere along the line

I imagine many,many calls to eBay CS 'getting disconnected' when more people start using Parcel Point locations and then trying to ask eBay about it

I used to love click and collect. Up until recently, we only had big W as our collection point here in town. I always got a message to let me know my parcel was in transit, and, my parcel is ready for collection.

then....

A newsagent just up the rd from me, became a collection point, so naturally, I chose it.

5 separate purchases later and not one notification. At one point, the staff told me they had 4 boxes of unclaimed parcels waiting for collection. I told them I hadn’t been receiving any notifications like I did when I used big W.

i ended up putting a post on one of our local fb pages informing others to see if their parcels were there, as notifications weren’t being sent.

Its a PITA.

I hope they they fix it. ☺️
