I use Gixen.

It is allowable and affiliated with eBay.

I use it for when I won't be near the computer near the end of an auction.

It bids in the last 5-6 secs hence very little chance of shill bids occurring after my max bid.

I hav e set it up thanks. I put Australia in for all my settings. Do I have to pay the $6 for the extra mirror as that is in USA and worried about the time difference. If Gixen is free how to they make their money? thanks

Gixen is free to use, but also offers a subscription service which is called Gixen Mirror. At $6 a year, it's a bargain; it offers extra reliability by sending your snipe offers from two server locations in case of failure of one of the servers. There are additional features as well.

Gixen Mirror is entirely optional.

For years, I used the basic Gixen, but if you have a serious purchase to make, it is worth subscribing for the extra reliability of Gixen Mirror. I began subscribing to Gixen Mirror when the Georgian writing slope of my dreams appeared on eBay. It was instant love; I had to have it, and I wanted nothing to go wrong with my snipe bid.

(As to how Gixen make their money, basic Gixen is ad-supported.)

That's another good reason to use it. Some areas have drop outs of the internet or modem resets.

I've been using AuctionSniper for the last decade or so - in all that time (literally thousands of items bid on), I've only missed out on a single item due to outages.

When I tried to bid on my very first auction many years ago I had read that it was advisable to bid just before the auction ends (but had no experience).

I had dial-up back then and when I tried to bid just saw the rotating circle for over 30 seconds and then the auction ended without my bid at a very good price!

PS: Mario, the administrator of Gixen, also seems to be very helpful (I never needed help, but if you visit the board you'll see he does respond to problems).

I'll be a little late to the party. If you're looking for an affordable (not free, but very affordable) yet extremely reliable sniper rifle that you can count on without fail, then check out bibag. I've been using it for 14 years without any problems.

This tool is especially helpful when I want to bid on a sought-after item at night or during my working hours.

Your post might be helpful for anyone who is looking for a sniping program, but ford12ford is probably long gone and would have solved the problem years back.
