is this really a tracking number ?

bought an item and was posted yesterday with an ebay tracking number as follows. i changed the first 15 numbers to obscure the actual. just wanting to know is this real with sooooooooo many numbers/letters?... 41 in total..

Personally, I would'nt believe the item is in Sydney

(Possible, of course.but I would not want to bet it is)

Does their feedback have comments about items being sent from China that were listed as being sent from Australia ?

just had a look at their comments and feedback and they have 100% pos and great feedback..Estimated between Thu. 22 Aug. and Wed. 28 Aug. see what happens.

If it's purported to be an Aus Post tracking number, testing it on Aus Post's site will tell you pretty quick (assuming it's not showing status updates within eBay, anyway).

It may well be an amalgamation of two tracking numbers, if the seller is using just in time fulfilment or local warehousing where it has one number for the initial leg, and another number for the domestic leg, like UBI does. I know AP can have some pretty long numbers, especially though eParcel (I get some alphanumeric ones that are 22 characters long).

I purchase a lot through a Chinese website and select the UBI shipping method - they have 23 character tracking numbers that start with 33 followed by 3 letters (on mine, it's usually CUC), then the remaining 18 numbers. I noticed the last 23 characters of your number have the same format, so I'd try maybe putting the first part of the number (before the 33QAV) into somewhere like 17track or Trackitonline and seeing if that gets any results.

thanks for the help..yep tried it to no avail. just seems weird a tracking number is so called "provided" but its useless as t i t s on a bull...

update...been 7 days now that item was marked as posted. tracking number still showing as not a valid #..looks like i have been done. see what happens next week.

what part of the title don't you understand ?

ill spell it out just for you...you see, i bought an item and the tracking number has 41 characters. i asked "is this really a tracking number ?" why i asked ? because i never seen an AU post tracking number with so many characters,others might of but i have not...

is this too hard for you to understand ?

Whether the tracking # is valid or not won't get the item to you any faster,

and the ETA is not until next Wednesday.
