Seller shipped to wrong address, eBay resolution centre is unhelpful, please help?

The seller has shipped my item to an incorrect address, the eBay purchase has the correct address but Aus Post shipping was sent to an incorrect address. I have contacted Aus Post and they have stated they sent it to the address provided, leaving the only the seller as the person whose got the address wrong. I have contact the seller and they have been giving me the run around and failing to accept they sent it to the wrong address. When trying to get through the resolution centre, --> item hasn't arrived yet --> item is awaiting collection at a post office, my only option is to contact the seller which I have done and they are less than helpful. How do I go about rasing a case?

A seller is required to send to the address specified in the PayPal notification in order to have protection.

Was the correct address in PayPal ?

PayPal address is correct, I do have proof of all correct addresses.

Go to AP tomorrow and ask for a print-out of where the item was sent to, if that is not your address in paypal open a dispute with eBay and upload the information to it (take a photo of it to upload it.)

Thanks, can do. But how do you open a case with EBay, does anyone have a link. I have gone through the resolution centre, but going through the "item hasn't arrived" only leads me to contact the seller, which I have done. It seems that I am unable to raise a case because the item it "awaiting pickup at local post office"

Thanks, sorry. The photo didn't load when I was reading.

It seems I am still unable to do anything but contact the seller, clicking the Item hasn't arrived link just brings me to the resolution centre and then to the below page, where I am unable to do anything but contact the seller. Frustrating

I think because it is still "In trasnsit" I think I have to wait until its returned to sender to raise a case.

Thank you all for your help, frustrating that the Ebay resolution centre can't help in times like these.

It looks to me that it's too early to open a case for INR.

It says if you haven't received it by the 11th then you can open the case.

What is Estimated date of delivery in your purchse history?

It was the 4th November, and it did arrive, but it was the wrong address and has ended up at the post office for collection. I am hoping I can raise a case tomorrow.

Sorry, but you can't say it arrived if you didn't get it.

You can open a case......or just go to the PO and collect it. (Take ID)

So it arrived to a completely different suburb than the one provided in the purchase, so it’s rocked up to the other address which doesn’t exist and was sent to the nearest PO. That PO is nowhere near me so I cannot just go and pick it up unfortunately. I am hoping I can raise a case for it tomorrow.

If it is waiting at the PO for you to pick it up you will lose the dispute immediately.

You cannot claim not received if you know it is at the PO.

I would be really, really, really interested to know how the seller got a 'fictitious' address.

In my experience, if an address didn't exist the item would be RTS, not held at a Post Office.

There is more to this than proponent claims, methinks. Like not updating address in eBay, and definitely not checking their address at checkout.

The holding at post office thing, rather than RTS sounds fishy to me too, but as for incorrect address ....It happens. I hand write my addresses rather than print ebay labels and with eye sight starting to go, have been known to put in the wrong digit in a post code or street address. It might only happen once a year, but on every occasion the item has been returned to sender.

I could be wrong, but I,m getting a vibe from the buyers attitude that may indicate there's more to this than we are being told. Maybe he is simply annoyed that the parcel genuinely was sent to the wrong address, but I have come across that attitude before when a buyer has made a mistake and then tries to huff and puff and bluff the seller into fixing it.

Without the sellers side of the story we cant really make too many judgements.

The seller has got the suburb incorrect, it was sent to a matching street address in the wrong suburb. The post codes are not similar in anyway, however there is the same number on the same road in this suburb. Paypal address was not wrong nor was the address provided in the purchase, both of which can be screenshotted, thankfully Ebay has good history.

Appreciate the kind and helpful words, below is the address provided in the purchase, and the second is the address provided in the tracking. Why does everyone always assume people have ulterior motives. And I don’t own a car, and cannot just go ‘pick it up’, I just want the seller to fix the mistake that they made

If there's no return address on the parcel it couldn't be returned to sender. There are some sellers who put a fictitious address and send an empty parcel so that it looks like it's been delivered.

OP, are you sure Brisbane is the correct suburb for your address?

If you call the post office that has it they will send it to your actual local post office for free then you can pick it up. They will only charge if you make them deliver it to your house.
