eBay discount code will not work

eBay have sent me multiple reminders this week that I have a $5 voucher. Everytime I try and use it, it said it's not valid. The item has to cost more than $5, check. I've tried to buy some sunglasses from various sellers but it never works. All the sunglasses cost more than $5 as well. Not that worried but it's strange how they pester me to use it but it never works. The code is YAU1NUNTT97B54QM.

I've never seen such a convoluted ebay code.

I doubt it's validity.

I was thinking the same thing Stawks.....if the ebay code were that convoluted nobody would use them.

Also, there would be a few more T & Cs than just that the item has to cost more than the discount amount.

Those types of codes are usually for a single member or a voucher code when eBay make a mistake and gift a voucher.

I've had a few of those. Mine have all worked when I use the cart.

When I go through checkout from the cart the code is already there at the bottom left hand side and it asks if I wish to apply it.

Perhaps try using the cart if you aren't already (I use a pc, not mobile phone app)

Are you an eBay plus member? The 5$ code is meant to be one per month, as an eBay plus perk, so try it on an eBay plus item.

I've had one or two and not found an item I could use it on, yet...soooo might only work on eBay plus things. Give it a go.

EBay have been throwing those $5 vouchers at me regularly for months and months, I'm guessing because I've not bought anything for ages. All accounts are getting them and all the codes are long like the OP and different on each account. They send them every few weeks and the code changes with each one. When I've used them in the past, I've just cut and paste the code into the payment box.

The latest one they sent me didn't work again. Both with a $15 purchase and a $200 purchase.. Almost giving up on eBay..
