Hi,

just want some advise on buying an i-phone through ebay.

Many i-phone for sale on here, is there any problems buying online?

Is there any thing I should be aware of?

Is there country specific models or they all the same?

The ones I've thought about buying from all seem to be good sellers with excellent feedback. New phone, so is the warranty valid?

Thanks

I would be concerned about the warranty as many manufacturers will only accept claims for items sold by official distributors and many sold here are grey importsand the warranty is only as good as the seller

Yes.. They are a highly scammed item, and you're unlikely to find one on here any cheaper than it would be in a store.. Also there is no warranty if something goes wrong

Please do yourself a favour and go to an Apple store or a phone shop. There are some genuine listing for second hand iphones but they usually sel for silly prices, nearly as much as new.

Many of the listings for new phones are not for the genuine item and if you buy one and it arrives from overseas then you cannot return it as AP will not allow anything with a lithium battery to be posted overseas.

Some things, and iPhones are right up there, don't lend themselves to buying online.

If you REALLY need a smartphone, you can get a Galaxy IIS for buggerall on a contract. I'm sure Blackberry and even Apple resellers can offer similar deals.

I buy and sell iPhones etc, so I can give some insights

There are lots of different models of iPhone - they are not all the same.

New iPhones generally sell for MORE on eBay than you can buy from a real store.

Used iPhones often sell for very close to new prices. So eBay is a great place to SELL iPhones.

When you are paying for something that is the price of an iphone, the little if any saving you will get. I say you would be better off buying it from an authorized retailer, from the looking around at the apple products on ebay, there really isnt any great savings to be had.

I would advise against buying an item like this on ebay simply because I bought genuine iPhone from an Apple Store & had it replaced under warranty twice & repaired under warranty once...I know several other people who have made warranty claims also. If you buy from an unauthorised seller Apple will NOT honour any warranty & you might get stuck with a shoddy product!

Exactly, chinese police arrested a few people a while ago selling fake iphones on ebay, they used SOME genuine apple parts in them and would sell them for a $300 profit.

Just from bought a new iphone 4S from mpkcomputers on ebay, very happy and was as advertised. Quick delivery full warranty. Would recommend a look.

Yes i had a look, they sold one a while ago which was a gift from a friend, they said they have a S2 so dont need it.

Then they sold another not long after, a gift from a friend, same spiel

Then you buy one, a gift from a supplier but they have no use for it :^O

Your warranty is worthless, Apple will not cover it since you bought it online.

The seller who no has nothing for sale even though there so called supplier sends them a iphone 4s as a gift?

The seller also refused to let the buyer who entered wrong amount off the hook, dont sound like a honest seller to me 😮

Let us know if you phone is still working in 2 months please

I would advise against buying an item like this on ebay simply because I bought genuine iPhone from an Apple Store & had it replaced under warranty twice & repaired under warranty once...I know several other people who have made warranty claims also. If you buy from an unauthorised seller Apple will NOT honour any warranty & you might get stuck with a shoddy product!

No offense, but it sounds like even the genuine iPhone is a shoddy product 😮

Its common knowledge that the first batch of iphones with any new model released is always plagued with some sort of problems, there have been screen problems, antenna problems, overheating problems. But people still line up around the block for 2 days to get the latest model first.

To me a smart person would wait a few months for the problems to show themselves and for apple to fix the next batch that come out and then buy a new iphone.

Well, if was going to buy a phone from a 500 billion dollar company, i would expect said phone to be perfect on the first run. Seems profit is more important than product. I think i'll stick with my 4yo Nokia 😉
