missing item coming from overseas

I purchased a bicycle from a seller in italy in early june, he sent it with ems tracking and customs in italy sent it back to him, tracking suggests it was delivered back to him arround the 26th of june, he is claiming that he still has not received it back and i should be patient. What are my options? Thanks, Ian.

Open an 'Item Not Received' request if the expected delivery period for you to have received it has passed - this just sounds like the seller is stalling.

If they were a half-decent seller they would have refunded you as soon as tracking showed the item being redirected back to them anyway.

Once you have the INR resuest opened the seller has a number of days to respond, but if they don't, you then escalate it for eBay to look at. They'd then grant your refund since tracking shows it going back to the seller.

Followed your advice and opened a item not received case, seller responded straight away with " another solution" quote: "today im going to the post office again, but you could also collect the bike. it is your fault if there is this problem now". Really, how is that a solution.

The seller is an idiot. Once you're able to in 5 days (or whatever date it says) escalate it to a case for eBay to rule on.

I'd ignore anything the seller says from here - I take issue with their credibility.

EDIT: And I see from their feedback others have had problems with them recently as well.

Hi, just wondering if there's an English problem here. Is the the seller possibly using some translation program? Seller could also be not taking responsibility for their own error in posting the item to you or worse case scenario, not being honest with you.

Hopefully you get some satisfaction out of this.

I am curious to know how you post a bicycle in the first place ? It's one of those items that damages easily if not packed correctly. It was possibly a shambles and the Post Office refused carriage. aka Too hard basket.

Easy...you fold it in half four times over and it ends up being quite compact.

I'm curious as to why someone would buy a bicycle from Italy, when there a countless bicycle shops here in Australia. You can buy everything from cheap and cheerful, to elite athlete.

Yes it may seem a bit unusual *tipppy*toes* for a large item too.. Perhaps this was a special Italian model. I dare say some of their bikes would be very well made though and possibly the moodel the OP was after wasn't availablle here..

As 4channel alluded to above, the Italians make some highly regarded bicycles and accessories. Much of what is sold in Australia is made cheaply in Asia, and the market here is probably small enough that not all models are imported by the official distributors. Or maybe it was cheaper. Or second hand. Maybe he was born with it...or maybe it's Maybelline.
