I received a shipment from the US which used the global shipping program (GSP), the good arrived broken. The plastic cover was for a HP printer, and the 2 hinge pins were completly broken off, it had been packed well with adequate packing to protect it for normal shipping.

I have contacted the seller who says he is not responsible as it left him in 1 peice, i can find no where on eBay on how to contact them regarding this issue.

Its not the first time i have received goods though the eBay GSP that have either been broken or packaging cut open. Does anyone know what steps need to be taken to contact eBay, my veiw is that the GSP shipper probably mis handled it and through a much heavier item onto it.

The seller is correct.....once the item is received at the GSP hub the seller has no more responsibility for it.

You need to make a claim for the damaged item through the GSP.....sorry I don't know where to find it as I have never had to make a claim.

I'm not sure if the seller fixed it or GSP though.

I'll take the bait (if it is bait). Yes, it was "the very rare dvd box set" and it was the seller who at her own cost replaced it with the second of two copies she had.I've only bought off auctions with GSP as the carrier about 4 times. One never arrived as well.

Now, believe it or not, just yesterday I had an item arrive from the US, and it was a record LP. The listing had the shipping as GSP. I snapped it up because of the price and there was only one or two other copies on eBay and this was the cheapest one. Well, it has what appears to be a split / crack on the first track, going the width of that track. Or is it a defect? It looks like a split (stress fracture) as the mark is uniform on both sides but hasn't broken the edge. The box is one of those standard record LP mailers. There was just bubble wrap on either side and no other protection (Possibly). Because I had 3 orders arrive at the same time and unpacked them all at the same time, I'm only about 80% sure it didn't have a sheet of thin cardboard. I think that one sheet is from the local seller but like I said, I'm not 100% sure. The box does have a crease and something could have been dropped on it to cause the issue. Who knows???

There's no way to tell if the item has been re-packed or if that's how the seller sent it. I do know that with a couple of video tapes I got more than 2 years ago, the repacking was bad. There was no protection on one end of the package. Anyway tapes were fine. But it does show that their re- packing and handling care needs refinement.

BTW: The cover of the LP has torn right though on the back and it could be because the record was sliding around. This is why sellers usually take them out of the cardboard outer sleeve. But many US LPs as you know *tippy*toes* are just held together by the artwork that is glued over 2 sheets of cardboard.
