g'day, had s seller cancel a sale due to listing not reaching price wanted,didnt have a reserve, seller cancelled 'due to postage address problems' has postage listed in ad...immediately re-listed ad, no reserve set again..

Reserves on eBay Australia can only be used for motors and real estate, if a seller puts a BIN on an auction that disappears after a bid is made on the item.

Are they a new seller?

IF so, Perhaps you can message the seller and expain how it works, now you know there are NO reserves, maybe the seller 'thought' there were too

Nothing we can do about it, not even eBay will make them sell to you at the price you bid

oh, ok..that needs to change, really need a reserve function on setting a price, but you can set a starting price to avoid just what happened, dont have a price set,sell the damn thing for what it reaches, or better yet contact the buyer and let them know mistakes were made, , dont put it on the buyer as being dodgey with a 'problem with address'

Message the seller and pull them up on it, or simply ask what the 'address' problem is

If they are going to use that as an excuse, then they need to be blocking addresses they won't ship to in their settings

I very much doubt eBay are going to be putting a reserve function on though

Don't get your hopes up.....ebay will not do anything at all about a seller who does not follow through with a sale.

They might say they will do something, but they never do.

And they are most unlikely to instate reserves on the Australian site even though many other sites have them. The seller needs to start the listing at the price he is happy to accept if there is only one bid.....any more is a bonus.

Well someone already bought the item that’s why I took off the ad stop messaging or I’ll report you

hmm, except it was me that bought it, and seller immediately relisted it , also exact same ad used just re-listed

wonder if its worth getting reported, at least the U.S ebay has a phone number to call

As you've already been told, no.

US eBay has no jurisdiction in Australia anyway.

The seller would have used the address reason to avoid a strike.

Just buy whatever it is from somebody else.

same thing happened to me twice in last month or so, won the auction but immediately it was cancelled and some lame excuse coz it wasnt near what they were after. Ebay did nothing and they both relisted as buy it now and nearly triple the price.

Just today i had a seller who 8 days after i paid cancels the order,refunds and gives me the "sorry it got damaged" excuse. I asked how bad and if they could show me a photo but of course no reply. Clearly they lied and the auction sold too low for their liking. What **bleep** me off is they faffed around doing nothing for 8 days first while i waited for it to arrive. I think they deserve something for that but i can see i can't leave any negative feedback?? Is there anything i can do to get back at the seller for what they did?

Just a bit of advice.....if you keep on wanting to get back at a seller if something displeases you (and advertising the fact on the boards) you will find yourself blocked by a lot of sellers who come here.

No seller wants to be exposed to the whims of a vindictive buyer.

You have not lost anything except a bit of time to place a bid. Move on and find a seller who has the same item as a Buy It Now.

It's a blot on the system.

At the very least, defaulting sellers should be permanently banned from re-listing the same item or similar items.

You are incorrectly making assumptions about me. I have never ever left bad feeback and have always been good to sellers for many years. I do also sell at times and have experienced bad buyers. I haven't named the seller. I'm sorry if my wording came off harsh I am just tired of being lied too and messed about with nothing that can be done about it.
