Postage charged twice???

Good afternoon. I am new to ebay here in Australia.I have only bought a few things that are located in Australia.

I have just bought an item from UK and have figured out most things.

However, when I get my Pay Pal Statement for the item I find that I appear to have been charged for Postage and Handling twice. A payment was withdrawn to the seller (which they say is for UK only)and one to Pitney Bowles for postage as well. I understand the latter but can't undertsand why I am charged extra and above what was quoted.

Any help is very much appreciated

I think you have answered your own question = Pitney Bowles shipping and import charges

The postage paid to the seller is for the postage within the UK for the item to be sent to the GSP hub (Pitney Bowes) for dispatch to Australia.

Th amount to Pitney Bowes covers the international postage and other fees and charges connected with international postage.
