Hi All,

I have received a "private offer" from a seller via eBay Messages for the following item, Weld 63-160mm Screw Style 2 Rings HDPE Butt Pipe Fusion Welder Welding Machine. The private offer is a good offer but when I cut and paste the item description into the eBay Search, no item appears from this seller. I have looked in his site and the item does not appear in his store. My question is, is this some sort of scam? I am concerned at handing over several hundred dollars for a Private Offer. should I be concerned.

I'd be wary too.

It's also possible he made this offer to more than one person and someone has beat you to it.

Can you ask the seller if the offer is still available? If he is trying to make a sale off eBay you both face censure if you go ahead.

If he still has the item for sale and you are interested ask him to create a special listing on eBay just for you. That way it's legal and you should still have protection if anything goes wrong.
