I can’t seem to leave feedback for this purchase.

I contacted the seller today as the left hand light was damaged on arrival.

The seller refuses to send out another light and states that I need to make a claim via Australia post.

When I click the link to view order I get redirected to Get Stated with eBay and I’m asked to register and this link goes nowhere

If I try to look up this purchase the site can’t find my order. The order was made on the 6th of June 2022

When I type in the item number the site can’t find my order.

I am really frustrated and feel that the guarantee offered by eBay is ineffective.

Can anyone help?

Did you buy on this account or did you buy as a guest?

If it was this account, was it under your purchase history where you checked?

When you looked for the item number under 'advanced search' did you then check the box on the left hand side where it says 'completed listings'?

Are you logged in to eBay?

And did you purchase while logged in to your account?

Assuming that you did, make sure you are logged in (type in www.eBay.com.au in a fresh tab or browser — do NOT click onto emailed links), go to your My eBay, select My Purchases, and you should see your purchase listed there. (The default period there shows the last 60 days; you can change that as necessary.)

Click into the item, and open a refund request for Item Not As Described.

Don't accept resend, and don’t close the claim, as once it’s closed it cannot be reopened.

We can guide you further but I think it’s best just to confirm that you can find the transaction first.

Can you locate it and post here to confirm?

The Ebay guarantee is effective, but only if you follow the procedure. Asking the seller to send another item is not procedure.

Sellers are not under any obligation to send further items, and cannot be forced to comply with anything UNLESS you take the reins and open a dispute. Please have a read of the Buyers Guide so that you are aware of what to do in the event things go wrong.

Sellers are responsible for packing their items in such a way that Aus Post could kick it down the street and it won't get damaged. What you need to do is open a case for NOT AS DESCRIBED. Only this action will put the onus on the seller to either send you a shipping label (if they are registered in Australia and want it back) , or they will need to refund you. If they are registered overseas, they cannot send a shipping label and must forward you the postage if they want it (highly unlikely).

Do not close the case under any circumstances until you have a refund. Then you can decide where else to purchase.
