I am so fed up with sellers stating their items are in Australia, only to find out they are in fact coming from overseas. I have been caught out four times now, eBay really needs to get its stuff together as far as sellers being honest. Trying to contact ebay about this has been almost impossible.

You have to check where a seller is registered on the feedback page. Some Chinese sellers have a warehouse here, but it is usually small, so they don't keep everything here and many items have to arrive from China.

Check where a seller is registered and check feedback (some buyers mention that their purchases had to arrive from overseas) in order to avoid disappointment (not always, but it helps have a clearer picture).

Very easy not to be 'caught out'

A. it shows on the feedback page where the seller is registered

B. That page also shows feed as to if they lie about where their items are sent from

C. The estimated delivery date is clearly shown before buying

Not sure why you can't contact eBay

Or why they would do anything when you have all the information available already and ignore it

Four times already

Stop keeping these sellers in business and then complain they are still in business

I find it easy at home on my laptop but when out and I have to use the mobile app I find it painful. Although it may get easier if I used the app more but I try and avoid it as there are too many pages to go through.

eol- I only ever use the app. Both on iPad and on iPhone. I don’t have a problem at all looking up where the seller is located.

Can't help but feel it is done on purpose.

What, exactly do you expect Ebay to do? Ebay cannot possibly check whether millions of sellers actually hold physical stock in the location they are claiming, nor can Ebay evaluate the billions of listings on its platform for authenticity - that's what the feedback system is for. I've bought from overseas registered sellers before and the item has turned up a week later in an Aus Post bag.

The last one that you left negative feedback for is registered in the UK.

But they don't have many negs and there are no mentions of item location misrepresentation.

It is entirely possible that they do keep stock in Aus and when they run out, they simply drop ship it from China while they wait to get more stock on hand.

In this case, as long as you got the item within the timeframe specified and it was the quality you were expecting, why leave a neg?
