how do we find out if the sale is legitimate?

buying a caravan, for an amazing price, but the person selling wants to go through ebay services, how do i find out if it's going through ebay?

they need a copy of my drivers license and medicare card, is this how the process works?

It is a scam.

Let me guess - the caravan is not advertised on eBay, but the seller alleges eBay will broker the deal. For no gain to eBay?

DL and Medicare card gives the scammer enough to hijack your ID.

Have you heard about the issues you can have if somebody hijacks your ID?

Run away.
